With a solid technical background — from studio design to the creation and customization of audio hardware — Frédéric Vectol co-founded QDS Studios in 2005 alongside Jordan Kouby.
As a sound engineer and producer, he has worked with a wide range of artists, from Babyshambles to Gregory Porter, including Stuck in the Sound, Mashrou’ Leila, and J.S. Ondara.
Bridging the gap between analog and digital, Frédéric has developed a distinctive sonic approach built around contrasts in texture and effects, transforming the studio into a true experimental lab. A strong advocate for live studio recording, he aims to capture the raw energy of musicians in their most authentic form.
In 2024, he recorded the original soundtrack for the Olympic Games ceremonies, a large-scale project that earned him and his team a Grammy Award and a Victoire de la Musique, recognizing both the technical excellence and artistic impact of the work.
His recent collaborations include: the Olympic Games, Aya Nakamura, Philippe Katerine, Starmania 2023, Arcane, DJ Cam, Eddy de Pretto, and Woodkid.
Alongside his musical work, he has also contributed to the world of cinema, handling 5.1 mixing for several productions such as I Love Peru, Golo et Ritchie, as well as projects for Cartier and Dom Pérignon.
Frédéric enjoys working closely with emerging talents from the contemporary music scene, helping them define and refine their artistic direction.
